About lessons
My child finds maths hard. Can you help?
Yes. We start from what they can already do and fill the gaps step by step, at a pace that feels comfortable. Getting the basics solid is often what brings the confidence back.
My child is already doing well. Is a tutor worth it?
It can be. We work on harder problems, exam technique and the topics that separate a 7 from a 9.
Do you follow what they're doing at school?
Yes. Send me their homework, recent tests or the school's topic list, and I'll plan lessons around them.
Why a student tutor rather than a teacher?
I sat these exams in 2026, so I know the current papers and what examiners look for. Many students also find it easier to ask someone close to their own age the questions they'd hold back in class.
My child's English isn't perfect. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Lessons are in English, the language of their exams, and I keep the wording simple. I'm fluent in Spanish and Russian too, so you can always talk to me in whichever language is easiest.
Practical details
How long is a lesson?
Usually an hour. An hour and a half can work well before exams, and 45 minutes often suits younger children, but it's up to you. Lessons are charged at €15 an hour.
Where do in-person lessons take place?
Wherever suits you best: at your home, at mine, or somewhere quiet we agree on, in Jávea or nearby.
What do we need for online lessons?
A laptop or tablet, a stable connection and paper to write on. We work over a video call with a shared whiteboard.
What happens between lessons?
After each lesson I send you a short update on what we covered and what's next, and your child gets a few practice questions to try before next time.
Can siblings or friends have lessons together?
Yes, two students can share a lesson. Message me and we'll sort out the details.
How do I pay?
By Bizum, cash or bank transfer, whichever is easiest for you.
